Hi-lo aimed to revamp their digital platform and improve the overall browsing experience on their website. They also wanted to deepen the brand's ties and build authentic communities with customers, locals, and partners through social events, while boosting their direct-to-consumer sales.
After performing a usability test, I successfully identified several pain points in the user journey and proposed a range of recommendations. These included optimizing the website's navigation for user-friendliness, ensuring it is responsive on mobile devices, and improving loading speeds. I also concentrated on enhancing the overall visual appeal, aiming for a design that is both elegant and engaging. This involved a thorough evaluation of elements such as font selections, color schemes, photography styles, and graphic elements. A 'Location and Events' section was later introduced to highlight current store locations, upcoming events, and plans for expansion. To promote a cohesive user experience and simplify future updates, I established a small pattern library for these design elements. Additionally, featured products, gift boxes, and cocktail recipes were incorporated to direct users to the new shopping platform hosted on Square.
